What is Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra?
DPN is also called Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra. These are brown or black coloured bumps scattered around the face, neck and upper torso of mostly among those who are of African origin, and sometimes Asians and Hispanic too. They are often seen on the upper and lower eyelids and most treatment centres will refuse to help if the lesions are present on the eyelids.
They generally appear or start appearing on the face and other parts after second or third decades onwards. They look unsightly and affect the psychologically of the person. This is completely a harmless condition and these bumps would never ever change into any skin cancer but they do look unattractive on the face. Interestingly, one-third of the black population alone in America is affected by Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra or DPN.Who was affected by DPN (Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra)?
The ideal candidate?
Unfortunately, DPN is more common in women than in men. If they have cosmetic concerns they can explore having its treatment locally but if you do not get very much far with this treatment then we at Renew Skin and Health Clinic will be more than happy to help you as we deal with all complex DPN (Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra) problems including those present on the eyelids as well. Here in the clinic, Dr Jha prefers to vaporise these blemishes in just one treatment under topical anaesthesia (numbing cream). This DPN removal procedure is generally painless and interestingly we receive clients from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Leicester, Gloucester, Cardiff, Glasgow, etc.Living with DPN?If you are living with DPN, you may forward close up images of your face to our on-call doctor via WhatsApp on 07866 715 815 for a quick consultation.
